Purpose
This Unit Standard requires learners to be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic toxicological principles. Learners credited with this Unit Standard are capable of:
- Demonstrating basic knowledge pertaining to toxicology contained in specified requirements.
- Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the routes of entry of toxic substances into the human body and their absorption.
- Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the metabolism of toxic substances.
- Demonstrating knowledge of the influences of various toxic substances on the human body.
